
Rich Aunty, Poor Aunty explores the evolving aesthetics of African matriarchs, reinterpreting West African design through my Southern African sensibilities. Rooted in the energy of Yeoville Market on a Sunday, the project reflects on what it means to be an "Aunty"






Through a subversive and speculative approach,
I deconstruct imposed silhouettes, reclaiming them through instinct and heritage.
This work shifts the gaze to our foremothers, who embodied true swag beyond class politics.
